Sharing with Google Groups

Google implemented a new feature for its Sharing system in Google Sites, Calendar, and Docs that directly affects one of the core set ups in our Gaming with Google articles, making it even easier to share those resources with others.

Sharing with Google Groups (via the Official Google Blog) discusses how you can now share calendars, docs, and sites with an entire Google Group rather than typing in individual users' names or email addresses.

In Gaming with Google Groups, we discussed setting up Contacts and a Google Group, and using your Contacts to easily share other Google Services with those individuals. Now you can simply enter the email address for your Google Group and each member of the Google Group will automatically have access. If a member leaves, they lose access; if a new member joins, they automatically have access.

This doesn't make the initial setup of Contacts obsolete. You still might have occasions when you want to share with a specific subset of your gaming group whether it's one person or just everyone but one person.

Let us know if you find this new feature useful. I've already found a few cases where I'll definitely use it.
