It just feels natural to me. Now, I will admit that with a virgin group at the table, this is difficult for me to accomplish. So I end up improvising a lot too. One thing I did recently which was a lot of fun was to run an &amp;quot;interlude&amp;quot; such as published on the Pinnacle site. Each player got a card and then roleplayed some exposition about their character. I see that as a type of fishing I suppose and I got some ideas from it. &lt;br /&gt;I used to insist on always being prepared but I am finding that &amp;quot;going with the flow&amp;quot; more has made the game more interesting because even I don&amp;#39;t know how it&amp;#39;s going to turn out :-)</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/1488126664415887850/518941594093584147/comments/default/4150238580791270351'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/1488126664415887850/518941594093584147/comments/default/4150238580791270351'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://www.thediceoflife.com/2009/09/improvisational-game-mastering-part-1.html?showComment=1254356297426#c4150238580791270351' title=''/><author><name>JDSampo</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/00736715393855092254</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://www.thediceoflife.com/2009/09/improvisational-game-mastering-part-1.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1488126664415887850.post-518941594093584147' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/1488126664415887850/posts/default/518941594093584147' type='text/html'/><gd:extendedProperty xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' name='blogger.itemClass' value='pid-1302597433'/></entry></feed>
